Paint For People

Gabriel Caiffa is a schoolteacher in Italy and a globally engaged artist. For twelve years, he has been dedicated to street art, starting with small stencils on skateboard decks. In recent years, he launched Paint For People, a self-funded project centered on creating free, legal street art for communities worldwide, spanning countries such as Jordan, Egypt, Mauritania, Morocco, and Uzbekistan.

Rather than seeking recognition in museums or galleries, Gabriel’s work finds its place on the walls of private homes, abandoned buildings, local shops, schools, and even the transport vehicles of local traders. Each mural is created in response to a resident’s request, with no expectation of payment, and is fully tailored to reflect the unique cultural identity of each location. This personalized approach has taken Paint For People along significant routes, including the path of refugees from Gaziantep toward Hungary, the Jordanian-Palestinian borders, the Silk Road, and the Sahara.

A central element of Gabriel’s art is portraiture, focusing on everyday people, especially those from the most disadvantaged backgrounds. These portraits capture the resilience and spirit of individuals often overlooked, presenting their stories in vibrant, large-scale form. Whether it’s a single small wall or an entire village, each piece is a gift to the community, a reminder of art’s power to uplift, unite, and inspire.
